Visit by Margaret Greenwood MP


We were delighted to have Margaret Greenwood visit us for our February National Campaign Day. We were focussing on the impact of cuts to our police force with 21 000 police officers no cut, 566 of those in Staffordshire. Further cuts and re-organisation will see our police officers located in Hanley rather than in Newcastle, casting severe concerns on the ability to respond quickly to reports.

Margaret also is the founder of Defend our NHS and tabled the NHS Reinstatement Bill. Unfortunately the General Election stopped the bill progressing but her work and determination to see it re-tabled is inspiring.

Margaret then went out in Wolstanton and Porthill Ward with our candidate Joan Winfield and worked very hard door-knocking and speaking to residents. She also took with her first time door-knocking member Cath and I hope she enjoyed the day.
