Tories Try to Buy The Election

In the 2010 election, the Conservatives outspent all other parties combined locally by a factor of over six to one.

And this time, they’re more than doing it again. Analysis shows that the Tories spent up to £70,000 locally in the three months before Christmas alone.

Residents have complained about the flood of direct mails from Tory HQ, the paid delivery of newspapers as well as Christmas cards to all.

With a majority of just over 1,500, Newcastle is one of the Tories’ top target seats and they’re using their limitless resources to flood the constituency again.

“Sadly, there’s no level playing field in political funding,” said Labour MP Paul Farrelly.

“They’re breaking the bank to buy the election. And if they won here, Cameron would get his majority without needing the Lib Dems.”
