Success for borough council Labour candidates

Congratulations to all our Labour candidates who stood in the local elections. An excellent result (and a great excuse to repost my favourite picture of the campaign: Amelia Rout, Elizabeth and Michael Shenton, Rob Wallace and Gareth Snell)

Particular congratulations to those that retained or won their council seat:

Ann Beech for Audley and Bignall End

Sandra Hambleton for Bradwell

Sylvia Dymond for Butt Lane

Sandra Simpson for Chesterton

John Williams for Cross Heath

Tony Kearon for Keele

Margaret Astle for Kidsgrove

Tony Eagles for Knutton and Silverdale

Amelia Rout for Silverdale and Parksite

David Allport for Talke

Sarah Pickup for Ravenscliffe

Commiserations in particular to Michael Shenton who so nearly won Clayton from the Conservatives, and to Ruth Wright who frustratingly missing out by just 13 votes for Wolstanton.

All will continue to work hard to keep Newcastle such a great place to live, work and play.

A full breakdown of the results can be found here:
