We are having our monthly Saturday Street Stall on the 5th August 11am - 1pm outside the Guild Hall.
Following on from the National Campaign Day Stall focussing on austerity and the public pay gap we will be looking at how austerity is affecting local government services.
The County Council is currently running a consultation looking at removing subsidies from our bus services. We want to encourage Newcastle residents to be aware of this consultation, to take part and to know which bus services may be affected.
Cuts in public transport disproportionately affect the poor, elderly and the young. with so many closures of local clinics and other services the need to access central areas is growing, yet the means to get there is reducing.
We need to speak out and show that we have reached the limits: NO MORE CUTS!!
Any other campaign that is fighting closure is welcome to come and join us or set up an adjacent stall.
