Jeremy Corbyn elected leader

Today the Labour Party starts a new phase having elected Jeremy Corbyn as the new leader and Tom Watson as deputy leader.

"I say to the new members of the party, welcome to our movement. And to those returning to the party who were in it before and felt disillusioned and went away: welcome back, welcome home."

We have the spirit, hope and determination to make our party and our country a better place for all. Now we need to work together, work hard, be unified and focus on the important issues and tackling the Tories. As Jeremy says in the closing part of his acceptance speech:

"We don't have to be unequal,

It doesn't have to be unfair,

poverty isn't inevitable,

things can, and they will, change"

There are lots of branch meetings, general meetings and social events planned, open to all members and supporters. Visit our events page to see current listings. All are welcome. Come and be part of the change!
