A tale of two councils

Of every £1500 in Council Tax paid in Newcastle, the Tory run County Council takes £1000, while Labour-run Newcastle Borough Council gets just £170.

Despite their much bigger budget, the Tories have closed youth centres, slashed library provision, made staff redundant, and cut funding for the young, the elderly and the vulnerable.

Next the County's now planning to sack 500 firefighters and axe all but 15 of staffordshire's 42 fire engines!

Labour-run Newcastle has stepped in to provide extra funds for young people, extra funds for disabled residents, for the homeless, for crime victims and other residents hit by Tory cuts.

All this with NO redundancies, NO closure of essential services that we provide and NO council tax increase.
